  15. <p>     DIED. JOAN HARRISON, 83, screenwriter who helped pen the scripts
  16. for Rebecca, Foreign Correspondent and other films directed
  17. by Alfred Hitchcock; in London. Hired as a secretary by Hitchcock
  18. in 1933, a job she later said she did poorly, Harrison quickly
  19. proved her value on Rebecca, which won the Academy Award for
  20. Best Picture in 1940, as well as on the scripts for Suspicion,
  21. Saboteur and Shadow of a Doubt. She later worked as one of Hollywood's
  22. first female producers, with credits such as Phantom Lady (1944),
  23. Ride the Pink Horse (1947) and Circle of Danger (1951).
